In this site you learn about a social enterprise project called the Bromley Garden Project run by schools in Bromley.

The site will show work by each school in their school grounds along with joint projects like the farmers market, links with food technology, canteens, local and international growers, businesses and so on.

we will also take sustainability issues seriously

Some History:

What is the Bromley Garden Project?

The Bromley Garden Project (BGP) began life as a social enterprise that  linked educational establishments in
the London Borough of Bromley through aspects of horticulture.

The original institutions were:
Glebe School, Riverside (name change from Rectory Paddock), Nash College and Bromley College. Our first new member Marjorie McClure joined in 2007. Bromley College have asked to take a break from the project over the following academic year.

It is expected that nearly twenty new school will form the new BGP by the end of the summer term. The aim will be to encourage and support schools in Bromley to use their school grounds as a learning resource in aspects of gardening, habitat creation,  food growing and so on. Links between subject areas, schools and community partners are expected and encouraged.

The project places a very strong emphasis on
real world learning, ethical practice and sustainability

Some of the participants are learning about running a garden business as part of a co-operative. But each school will find its own place in the project to meet its own specific needs.
